Eduardo Gallardo de Gomar

Eduardo Gallardo de Gomar Born in Cádiz, started his musical career with the organist Leonor V. Moreno to continue later at the Professional Conservatoire of Music "Manuel de Falla" in Cádiz with teachers such as R. Prieto, L. Parodi, P. Salvatierra or J.L. López; at the same time he studies Anglo-Germanic Philology at the University of Cádiz.

Having finished his university studies and his professional piano studies, he continues studying Harmony and Counterpoint and later attends the High Conservatoire of Music "Manuel Castillo" in Seville where he receives lessons from Manuel Castillo on Musical Composition, Ignacio Marín on Fugue and Carlos Baena on Oboe.

In June 2004 he finishes his professional oboe studies.

Before devoting himself to choral conducting, as a singer he has belonged to several choirs such as the University of Cádiz Choir and the Vocal Ensemble "Romanza". Occasionally he sang with el Taller Hispalense de Música Antigua.

He has also studied with international teachers such as R. Coll, J. López Gimeno, Ricardo Rodríguez, Laurentino Sáenz de Buruaga (Schola Antiqua), Martin Schmidt (Karlsruhe Musikhochschule), Octav Calleya or Harry Christophers and The Sixteen.

Being conductor of the Chamber Choir "Nova Mvsica" since its beginning in 1991, during the seasons 96-98 he was also second conductor of the Poliphonic Choir "Canticum Novum" of Cádiz which he conducted in different Andalusian provincial capitals.

During the season 97-98 he cofounded the Choir of the Jorge Juan Secondary School of which he was conductor until the end of 2000.

Since the spring of 1999 he has given several courses in Cádiz for primary and secondary music teachers on School Choir Conducting and as a result of them, many new school choirs are emerging in the area.
