The Chamber Choir Nova Mvsica was formed in November 1991 in Cádiz, Spain, as a consequence of the musical interests of a group of friends with certain experience in choral singing, music students and university students. Throughout these years new members have been added and provided their own experiences and have consolidated it to form the current choir.

Although interested in classical music in general, its repertoire, composed by more than a hundred works, is especially dedicated to Renaissance music, most suitable for this type of group; yet, they have also collaborated with other chamber choirs in choral works with orchestra.

Its progression, both technically and interpretatively speaking, has improved through their ten years of existence as can be clearly seen in their musical activity, much more concerned with quality rather than with quantity.

The choir has performed in Cádiz, S. Fernando, Jerez and other towns of the province.

In November 1998 the choir were finalists in the II Certamen de Coros Polifónicos organized by the Seville Town-Hall.

In December 1997 they recorded their first cd under the generic title Poliphony of the Renaissance and this year it is planned to record Tomás Luís de Victoria´s Tenebrae Responsories whose last performance took place last Maundy Thursday at the Cádiz Cathedral Crypt.

In the season 01/02, the choir was included in the II Young Performers´ Concerts Cycle organized by the Cultural Department of the Caja San Fernando of Seville.
